Basically to every European country (-including Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom), but in fact we accept and ship orders worldwide. However some markets might not be setup for automated checkout. For all domestic orders, or standard shipping within the Benelux delivery is estimated within 2-3 business days. Delivery to most of the Western European countries (-including the UK) will take approx. 4-10 days for standard shipping. Delivery to most Central European countries takes approx. 11-21 days for standard shipping. Brake Free weighs ~200 grams equal to 7oz depending on your metric system. Brake Free design follows the curvature of the back of the helmet so that the weight is more balanced on the mount. We’ve used strong yet lightweight materials for the outer shell to optimize the weight to durability ratio protecting the pcb and li-ion cell. Thorough research and reviewing provided us the information that 200 grams is the so-called ‘sweet spot’ for most flip-up helmets (which design makes up for >60% of the market) as it ‘cancels-out/balances’ the added weight from the chin-up system.

It doesn't –Brake Free has a ‘true-wireless’ design that autonomously detects deceleration events using it’s built-in sensory system. Our proprietary algorithm is designed to detect all braking events and ignore head-checks and other non-braking events. Unlike other "wireless" products, Brake Free does not require splicing wires into your motorcycle’s wiring or downloading apps. Just charge it, mount it to your helmet and you're ready to ride.

We use a combination of accelerometer and a gyrometer sensors inside the unit. Our patented algorithm takes-in all the data from the sensors and determines with great accuracy that you are slowing down (what we call a deceleration event).More importantly to say that this includes ANY deceleration event, no matter what is causing the deceleration. Therefore Brake Free acts on engine braking, downshifting through the gears and letting go of the gas on high torque/compression/big-block motorcycles, and yes of course: regular braking by actuating the brake lever.

Brake Free fits helmet sizes XS to XXL, matte and gloss finish, full face, 3/4 and half helmets. We fit-tested Brake Free on race helmets, street helmets, touring helmets, adventure helmets, modular helmets, and even some skateboard and bike helmets.

Very specific ‘over the head chin-up’ systems such as the ROOF Boxer V8 helmet, the Scorpion EXO-Tech and EVO and LS2 helmets require some attention mounting the Brake Free but in most cases will still be compatible with Brake Free. Yes! Although Brake Free was originally designed to work with motorcycles and mount to motorcycle helmets, it will work with any vehicle, electric skateboard, e-scooter, bicycle, OneWheel, snowmobile and more.

It does not –Brake Free was designed to improve your visibility for other traffic. Your conventional brake light will not increase brightness when you cycle down through your gears or when you decelerate from the compression of the engine when you let go of the gas. Brake Free detects and acts on all these deceleration situations. Whereas we believe that the initial deceleration signal is the most important so that traffic stays at bay, increasing the safety padding around you. Once Brake Free signals that you are decelerating, you instantly demand attention from surrounding traffic. After that, other riders/drivers will automatically look at you turn indicators (-if used) to see in what direction you’re maneuvering to get out of a (-occasional) sticky situation.We designed Brake Free to be extremely simple to install and use by its ‘single-button’ operation. A true-wireless design does not offer functionality for turn-indicators, something which would require splicing wires on your motorcycle.

There are 3 ride-modes programmed in Brake Free that provide a distinguishable visible light-spread.
Mode 1 // Standard-mode, whereas all 100 LEDs are on as running lights
Mode 2 // Safety-mode, left and right LEDs are pulsing and the center block is constant as running lights
Mode 3 // Stealth-mode, only the center block LED panel containing 8 LEDs top and 8 LEDs bottom are on as running lights, the side panels are activated upon detection of a deceleration event
All three modes will activate all LED panels to 100% brightness during all deceleration events. To switch modes quick press the power button to cycle through the modes while Brake Free is on. More detailed information can be found in our user manual which you can download for you convenience as a pdf at the top of this page.

On start up, the center block lights will blink together to indicate the charge level.3 blinks = 75-100% charge // 2 blinks = 35-75% charge // 1 blink = <35% charge

When the battery level falls below 25%, Brake Free will automatically switch over to Stealth-mode (center block lights on as running lights) to conserve battery. The circular indicator light on the left of the top center LED panel will blink as well.

Short answer, 8-12 hours on average.The long answer is that Brake Free has been known to last for 14+ hours in Stealth Mode on long-distance rides as battery life greatly depends on the type of riding you're doing, the mode you select, and also the weather conditions.

We use a AAA quality, premium brand, high-capacity, type 18650 rechargeable Lithium Ion battery. It has a 3200 mAh capacity with 8-12 hours of riding on a single charge.

Not possible. Brake Free is sealed and is not designed to be accessible by the user. Trying to replace the battery may result in a fire hazard if the wrong battery is used. Please don’t do it. Opening the unit will void the warranty.

Nope... Rest assured we use a premium Lithium-Ion battery and implemented an overcharge protection circuit that will prevent the battery from overcharging and overheating while charging.

Yes, you can. If you have a power bank or any other power source that can charge a device using a USB cable, you can charge Brake Free while in use.However, using tethered devices on the go can be risky! You will have a cable attached to your helmet sorta speak, so use this feature at your own risk. We therefore highly recommend charging the unit while off the bike. But you're a grown-up, make your own decisions, just be safe.

It takes between 2 and 3 hours to charge from low battery state to full charge. However charging times may vary depending on the power source. The maximum charge rate is 1 Amp. The two charge indicator LEDs on either side of the centered top block should blink when charging and glow solid once the battery is fully charged.
